The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is comprised of 18 local authorities and four Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) working together to move powers from Whitehall to the West Midlands and our locally elected politicians, who know this region best. Individual councils will still deliver services and retain their identity but on the big decisions we will have the resources to work together.
As a result of a number of emerging rail projects, we are currently recruiting an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the Corporate Services Projects Team. The individual shall have strong project management experience in the development and delivery of bus, rail and rapid transit project(s) and/or capital and revenue funded project(s) with adherence to an approved gated project lifecycle.
Successful candidates will be educated to Degree level or similar. Candidates are also required to have PRINCE 2 practitioner qualification or equivalent to meet the requirements of the role. You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with senior managers and have the ability to prioritise and manage your work through a pro-active approach in order to meet deadlines. The post holder will be required to demonstrate best practice in project management whilst working on individual projects, projects within a programme and portfolio management.
