We now have an exciting opportunity for a Leadership Commission Delivery Plan Co-ordinator who will work closely with our Public Services Reform and the Mayoral teams to develop and co-ordinate the delivery of an action plan to improve senior leadership diversity within the region.

About us

The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is a strategic authority working with partners to deliver a stronger West Midlands, with a focus on skills, innovation, transport, economic development and regeneration.  Individual Councils and Local Enterprise Partnerships will still deliver services and retain their identity but on the big decisions we will have the resources to work together.

This is an exciting time for the West Midlands - the Commonwealth Games will be here in 2022, the arrival of HS2 will help make us a world class business location and a new £350m housing deal aims to deliver 215,000 new homes by 2031.

Against a backdrop of a uniquely challenging and evolving environment, we are looking for the right people to ensure we can meet the demands of delivering an ambitious agenda that aims to build a healthier, happier, better connected and more prosperous West Midlands.

About the role

As the Leadership Commission Delivery Plan Co-ordinator, you will develop and co-ordinate a WMCA and cross-organisational plan to improve senior leadership diversity in the region. Your role will involve working in partnership with senior leaders in regional businesses/organisations and with key professional networks and partners in the region to secure active participation in key initiatives and support the delivery of agreed actions. You will also support the successful and effective operation of established external networks (i.e. the Inclusive Leadership meetings) and will develop effective evaluation tools to monitor the effectiveness of the overall delivery plan.

We are looking for a proactive individual with strong networking skills and a proven track record in the delivery of cross-functional projects to engage with and influence a range of internal and external stakeholders to drive forward change. You will need to be a confident communicator with the ability to inspire, persuade and enthuse others, wider knowledge of the inclusion and diversity field and the ability to make the business case for leadership diversity.  You will have experience in the design of initiatives at a strategic level and working through partnerships and networks in order to deliver objectives.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact in the context of a dynamic public sector environment.

In return for your hard work and commitment, we will reward you with a range of competitive and attractive benefits.
